Border Tales is a blog by Andrew Becker about the Third Country that is the borderlands between the U.S. and Mexico. It aims to be a hodge-podge of information, news, opinion and (hopefully) reported insight into U.S.-Mexico diplomatic, social and cultural relations, the Drug War, immigration, the border and beyond.

I’m a journalist based in California. I’ve reported on the border and immigration, among other topics, for The New York Times, PBS FRONTLINE/WORLD, Dallas Morning News, Contra Costa Times and KQED’s California Report.
